Here’s all of this week’s essential reading for England supporters.

Callum Hudson-Odoi won’t be moving to Bayern Munich any time soon. The 18-year-old winger is expected to sign a massive new five-year deal to stick around at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea’s transfer ban might have an impact on the future of Hudson-Odoi and he’s not the only one. BBC Sport has an interesting look at the relationship between the ban and the prospects of Chelsea’s academy products, most notably the English trio of Tammy Abraham, Mason Mount and Fikayo Tomori.

In the same article Mantej Mann points out that the number of academy products used in the Premier League by the top six clubs last season is exactly the reverse of their league positions, with Manchester City using the fewest of the top six and Manchester United the most.

Harry Maguire, we assume, will eventually be transferred to Manchester United. When Leicester City are happy with an offer, he’ll go. Seb Stafford-Bloor’s latest article for Football365 explains why that might be a mistake.

Everton winger Ademola Lookman is definitely on the move, having signed a five-year contract at RB Leipzig for a hunky chunk o’ cash.

Andy Carroll is out of contract, consistently injured and, one has to assume, gradually on the way out. Barney Ronay’s tribute to “a career that has no real narrative” is well worth your lunchtime.

There’s bad news for right back Nathaniel Clyne - proud owner of 14 England caps - who has been told he’ll be out for the rest of 2019 after picking up a knee ligament injury in pre-season action against Borussia Dortmund.
